GREATER BERGEN COMMUNITY ACTION AWARDED $750,000 MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY GRANT

Hackensack, NJ – Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc. (GBCA), a nonprofit community action agency that fights poverty by providing services in Bergen County, Paterson, and Jersey City, was awarded a $750,000 technology grant from Microsoft stores. The grant was presented at the grand-opening of Microsoft at Willowbrook in Wayne, NJ (1745 Willowbrook Mall, Wayne, NJ 07470) on Saturday, June 13th.

“We are grateful for this wonderful act of generosity on the part of Microsoft. This donation will go a long way in helping to insure that the children and families we serve can benefit from the most up-to-date technology which, in today’s information-based society, is crucial. I commend Microsoft for being a good corporate citizen and welcome them as a community partner,” said Robert Halsch, Jr., Executive Director of GBCA.

The store opening marks Microsoft’s fifth retail store in New Jersey and 112th across the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico. Microsoft continues to expand its existing retail footprint in the U.S. to deliver a premium retail experience that gives customers outstanding choice, value, and service with their technology purchases.

120 GBCA employees, friends, and families supported the organization at the grand opening.
