Manage Your Energy Bills This Winter With LIHEAP

As the cool winter weather continues, many families are reluctant to turn up their thermostats because they want to save energy and, most importantly, save money. However, children and their families shouldn’t have to be uncomfortable on cold days for fear of high energy bills.

Energy costs can put stress on a household budget. For low-income individuals or individuals experiencing a financial emergency, it can force them to make difficult decisions about which bills to pay and which necessities to survive without.

GBCA’s Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Programs (LIHEAP) helps income-qualified individuals and their families who are experiencing financial challenges pay their energy bills and remain comfortable in their homes.

GBCA’s LIHEAP program is available at no cost to all income-qualified individuals in the Bergen County area. For more information about the program, call (201) 488-5100 ext. 7008/7012. To apply in person visit the office at 316 State Street, Hackensack, NJ on Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00AM-3:00PM. Extended office hours are in effect until May and are on Thursdays only 9:00AM-7:00PM.
