HACKENSACK, NJ - Greater Bergen Community Action, Inc. (GBCA) and Capodagli Meridia's partnership to build the first residential property on Main Street in Hackensack, NJ, in decades, is progressing rapidly. The mixed use complex is planned to house retail and 106 market rate residential units. It is set to be the first new development project to be completed on Main Street.
GBCA President/CEO, Robert Halsch spoke about the benefits of the new development,"We are pioneering a new market on Main Street which will result in increased economic opportunity for all Hackensack residents; as such, these are all market rate units." When asked about affordable housing he said, "GBCA's affordable housing efforts continue to be ongoing through CHIP."
GBCA subsidiary, Community Housing in Partnership (CHIP), has been providing housing for low and moderate income persons, first-time home buyers, and individuals with special needs by constructing and renovating residences for multiple dwelling unit rentals and for single family ownership since 1989.
