Hackensack nonprofit awarded $125,000 grant for homeless program

HACKENSACK — Greater Bergen Community Action, a local nonprofit, was awarded an estimated $125,000 grant to expand a 10-year-old homelessness prevention project in Bergen County.

“The winners of this year’s Housing for Everyone competition embody the Ready Commitment pillar of Financial Security,” said Lisa Gruner, head of social impact and the TD Charitable Foundation, in a statement. “TD is honored to fund these organizations’ projects, which will help to increase financial wellness to families and individuals across our footprint.”

Greater Bergen Community Action, which works with families, community institutions and neighborhoods across the state, was one of 25 organizations that received grants from the TD Charitable Foundation, an arm of TD Bank. The organization was one of three New Jersey-based groups to receive funds from the annual competition, and the only one in North Jersey. CLICK HERE FOR MORE
