Englewood, NJ – 1st Bergen Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit financial institution with a mission to empower and strengthen individuals who may not otherwise have access to banking and financial services, will host its annual meeting and 10 year anniversary celebration on April 30th, 2019 at Community Baptist Church of Englewood. The meeting will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm and is open to the community.
1st Bergen Federal Credit Union was established by Greater Bergen Community Action – a progressive not-for-profit company working throughout New Jersey to build more sustainable families, community institutions, and neighborhoods – in order to meet the substantial need of financial services for the underserved community in Bergen County. Indicative of that need is that at the time of its inception, 1st Bergen was the only federal credit union established in New Jersey within a 20 year time span, and now at the time of its 10 year anniversary, remains the only new credit union founded in New Jersey in the last 30 years.
With a slogan carried out through service and reflected in member results, 1st Bergen Federal Credit Union embodies “Banking You Can Trust” in its client-driven offerings which includes financial literacy resources, lower rates due to its nonprofit nature, and member-involvement, such as the right to vote for board members during each of its annual meetings.
