Train Your Brain

Learning a new language has its challenges and sometimes it may seem like you will never grasp it fully. When it comes to learning a second language, adults are at a disadvantage due to the way that they approach the process. Adults approach learning a new language with a problem-solving method rather than the way a child develops language for the first time. This simply means that although adults generally progress through the early stages of learning a new language faster than children, those who are exposed to a foreign language as a child tend to achieve higher proficiency than those who start as adults. But there’s no need to worry! There are simple and effective ways you can train your brain to learn a new language. Check out our tips below and try them the next time you’re practicing!

GBCA’s English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are free to all eligible students and is the first step to a stronger, better future in your new community. Classes are staffed with ESL instructors that will help you with all aspects of the English language so you can feel more comfortable communicating and living in the USA.
